My Travel Story

by: David Kirk Start Date: May 29, 2015 - End Date: Sep 25, 2015
Studying Psychology at university has developed my interest in mental health and a passion for the care we provide to support people who have problems with their mental health. Whilst undertaking this voluntary placement with SLV I will be working hard to provide care in Psychiatric units, be motivated whilst teaching children in Sri Lanka and most of all determined to succeed in the challenges I will face. Put it this way, if I were to choose a curry it would be mild so I know at least one challenge I will face will be the food! All joking aside the challenges I will face is nothing to what the communities have to deal with and by being a part of the SLV team I hope I can make a difference in many people’s lives. I know this is going to be a struggle, but with your support I can do it! Any amount that you donate is greatly appreciated.

To keep up to date with my travel plans, personal messages, photos and main events whilst I am in Sri Lanka please follow the blog link (https://srilankamentalhealthplacement.wordpress.com/). This also allows the opportunity to leave messages and comment on my travel to Sri Lanka. Thank you for taking the time to read this and by donating to making a real difference in the lives of people in Sri Lanka!
