Bonjour tout le monde! For those of you who don’t know who I am, I’m Franky! I’m 20 years old and I'm a rising Junior at Whittier College in Whittier, CA., double majoring in French and Political Science. I’ve been studying French language and culture for over seven years now and this fall, I have one of the greatest opportunities to study abroad in Paris at the renowned Paris-Sorbonne University. In collaboration with Sweet Briar College, I have been admitted to their Junior Year in France Program, the oldest coeducational intercollegiate study abroad program in Paris. I get the chance to study in a French university where classes are conducted entirely in French, alongside other French students. Among places like the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysee, and the Louvre, the most exciting part about this experience is the fact that I get to live as a Parisian and not just as an American student studying abroad. I will be living in my first and very own apartment located in the 9th arrondissement where the famous Moulin Rouge is located! I hope this experience helps me grow as a person and as a student. I hope to dramatically improve my French speaking skills while becoming more aware of the world. But I cant do this all on my own. While the opportunity is out of this world, the tuition for the program is like any other private institution. This is why I’m asking you all for your help. If you would like to donate to my experiences abroad, I would be forever indebted to you and owe you a huge part of my life. Anything helps. No amount is not too little. I will even send you postcards in the mail once I settle in Paris! and if you can’t, that’s okay too! I appreciate you taking the time the time to read this.
Au revoir!
