My Travel Story

I will be working in a local orphanage (AMANTANI) in Cusco during 6 weeks, looking after newborn babies and children ages 2 to 7. 

The principal orphanage is for babies who are being cared for with the hope that one day they will be adopted. Alongside this, they run three smaller homes for older children who are now unlikely to find adoptive parents. 

I hope I will be able to contribute in as many ways possible, not only working for the charity but hopefully donating money raised during the trip. I believe this trip will be an incredible experience not only because of the gratifying sensation of helping in a foreign and vulnerable country, but also learning more about myself and appreciating what I have. 

In my free time I will also have time to travel, therefore I am hoping to learn more about the Inca culture, hopefully being able to climb the Machu Picchu via an Inca trail which lasts around 5 days.

I look forward to changing someone's life, making children smile and realize their dreams. This experience will definitely change me as a person and I am sure this is only the start of my volunteering adventure!
