My Travel Story

by: Karen Olson Start Date: Feb 11, 2015 - End Date: Mar 22, 2015
I’ve been in a wildfire, flood, and tornado, in an explosion in a cave, and lost at sea. And what came closest to killing me was not having the leadership skills I needed when I got my dream job and when overwhelmed by the stresses of daily life.

So I am filled with gratitude that I chose to go through CTI’s Co-Active Leadership Program last year. It helps people break free from patterns that no longer serve and instead step into their natural strengths, creativity, resourcefulness, and presence. That means they can handle—well—just about anything, from creating more humane and intimate relationships to carrying out quests that change the world.

The program helped me get clear about my work. My life experiences have taught me that when we’re out of balance with nature and our own senses, instincts, and intuition, we put ourselves—and everyone else—at risk. I believe that when leaders pay attention to natural patterns and deep, subtle ways of knowing, they can be more effective at creating a healthier, safer, more peaceful world. CTI’s Co-Active Leadership Program has given me the foundation and wings to share this message.

This year I have the opportunity to be an assistant to group of courageous people entering the same program. My job as an assistant is to make sure the participants and program leaders—the soulful, powerful L.A. Reding and Caroline MacNeill Hall—have what they need so they can focus on their important work.

Being an assistant is an unpaid volunteer commitment for me. I will be away from home and paid work during four weeklong retreats in California during 2015 and will need to cover airfare, four nights of hotels, car rental, gas, and taxis for 4:00am airport runs. Please help fund my travel. I would so appreciate any contribution you might make to support me as I support a tribe full of others.

I can’t adequately express how important I believe leadership development—and this program in particular—is in the chaotic world we’re living in today.

Many thanks and blessings. Walk in beauty.
