About Me
Hi! My name is Anissa, and I’m a Speech-Language Pathology student eager to expand my skills and understanding of communication sciences in a global setting. I’ve been accepted to participate in Therapy Abroad Belize, an 8-day program designed for undergraduate and pre-professional students in CSD and related fields. This unique experience combines study abroad, observation, and professional development, giving me the opportunity to shadow licensed SLPs in schools and clinics, take part in screenings, interactive workshops, and therapeutic camp sessions, and learn about caregiver collaboration and culturally responsive therapy. Throughout the program, I’ll complete clinical observation, reflective journaling, and skill-building activities while gaining mentorship from ASHA-certified professionals. I’ll also explore how culture, language, and environment shape therapy practices in Belize. This experience will help me grow as a future SLP by strengthening my communication, professionalism, and cross-cultural understanding. All donations will go directly toward my travel, program fees, and educational materials. Your support—big or small—will help me take part in this incredible learning opportunity and bring back new knowledge to better serve future clients and communities. Thank you for supporting my journey!
