5 Things That Might Ruin Your Travel Funding Campaign

Crowdfunding is a great tool for getting the money you need to travel. Whether you want to take a bucket list trip, travel abroad to study, or volunteer your time in another place, there are people who are willing to help you reach your goal. The only thing you have to do – is to start a campaign. Nowadays there are numerous platforms that allow doing that but you have to keep in mind, that this is not as easy as it might seem. With that being said, here are 5 things that might ruin your travel crowdfunding campaign:

Not Showing Your Own Efforts

We think it is pretty obvious, that people start crowdfunding campaigns to gain money that they don’t have, not to save some. So you have to show your funders that you are investing just as much time and effort into this campaign as they do. Take a second job, make some savings – let people see that you are working hard to achieve your goal and don’t just beg for other people’s money.

How to Save Money While Teaching Abroad

Travel is by far one of the best ways to get in touch with not only yourself, but the world at large. As we all know, however, funding that travel can be incredibly challenging, especially if you have any significant amount of debt to contend with. Luckily, there are ways to get around figuring out how to travel the world with no money, like travel grants, volunteering with international aid organizations, or teaching English as a second language abroad.

I ended up going with the latter, and it was one of the best travel experiences I’m ever likely to have. Not only was I able to experience vibrant culture in my year teaching, but I was able to pay off a decent portion of my student loan debt while also saving money for my return stateside. This wasn’t a particularly easy thing to do, but it is very possible if you remember a few key things.
