My Travel Story

I have been given an amazing opportunity to volunteer in a school in the slums of Kenya. In order to go on this trip, I need to raise £1,645. This trip will be beneficial to both me and the children in the school.
I will get the chance to assist a teacher and by the end of the week, I will be taking my own class. I will need to prepare for lessons and break times taking any equipment I might need with me, resources in the school are very limited! I intend to engage the children in sport, which will be a great distraction from the hardship of everyday life. 
I am particularly interested in sport and believe that everyone, no matter what their background, should have the chance to enjoy physical activity, which will improve both mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Before the trip has even started, I am faced with the huge challenge of fundraising such a vast amount of money! I have already completed a bake sale, with huge success and aim to get stuck in with many more fundraising ideas. As some of you may be aware, I already have two jobs and am embarking on a third to cover some of the costs, all of this whilst studying for my GCSE's!!!
