Ever since I was in preschool and learning the alphabet, I just knew I wanted to be in the medical field. One of my favorite toys was a toy stethoscope and a little "doctor" kit. I always looked up to my outstanding grandfather, who is a beyond gifted neurosurgeon. I have always been a very caring person and love to help others feel better physically and mentally. I did the Summer Scrubs Program over the summer and shadowed doctors and nurses in the local area for four days and I absolutely loved it. I have never been more compassionate about something in my life. I am going to do an internship at the Mitchell Cancer Institute next summer and help in cancer research. As you know (or may not know), I am a senior at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. Everyone goes on a senior trip after they graduate, and I saw this as an awesome opportunity to use this as my senior trip. I would honestly rather be helping those in poor countries, learn more about what I love most, and experience what I will be doing for the rest of my life. Will you help me get one step ahead of my lifelong dream?
