From Africa to Australia, go Murdoch studies 2018
I have received an opportunity to further my studies and fulfill my passion in children and family counseling through studying for a Masters program in Counseling at Murdoch University in Australia 2018.
Currently, as a family services worker, I enjoy the opportunity to be part of amazing peoples lives, children, adults and older persons from diverse backgrounds, offering support and working together in finding solutions and way forward towards challenges like trauma, loss, addictions, and the like. Most of my cherished projects are the Youth life skills programs at various schools around our small town. Sharing information, opening discussions to better equip the youth.
I wish to persue my studies and go on sharing and working with people, and with support in raising tuition, I have faith that it's possible.
It is a few days after I created my fundraiser. While in deep thought, I realized that though I may have hope and dreams, persuing my education and many others, I am grateful for all I have been blessed with. Every Friday, at the South African Women's Federation (SAVF) organization which I volunteer at, we give out food parcels donated from well wishers to those who don't have and are hungry. Child headed households, the elderly who have no one to take care of them. I have never gone to bed hungry and for that, I am blessed and happy to be in a career and position to help others in need.
