SLV is an organisation that aims to provide maximum benefit to communities around the world as well as helping volunteers to gain experience in the mental health sector. It first started in 2010 when a group of psychology graduates travelled to Sri Lanka to use their skills and experience to help those living with mental illness.

I will be travelling to Sri Lanka for 5 weeks from June to July,  to volunteer on their mental health placement and try to change the lives of those in Sri Lanka. I will be working on many projects while I’m there. These include  working in a clinical setting to help a wide variety of patients all at different stages of their recovery, as well as teaching English to children to help boost their confidence and give them more opportunities in their future.

While I’m there I will be living with a Sri Lankan family during the week and then will have my weekends free to travel Sri Lanka and experience something new each week.

Any donations would be appreciated to fund my trip, to help and change the lives of individuals living in Sri Lanka !! Thank you!!
