SLV Global 5 week mental health placement
My Travel Story
I have been strongly compelled to take on this opportunity due to the regrettable circumstances that the people living there have had to face. With communities still recovering from a 25-year civil war, and destructions from the tsunami in 2004, mental health support facilities are seriously lacking. This had caused drastic repercussions, with mental health disorders (morbid depression, alcohol abuse etc.) rising.
During this placement I would be taking on a number of projects including activity support to improve cognition, teaching English, spending time in a Psychiatric unit to support rehabilitation and many more. As such, I would really appreciate any donations to help me get there and do all this, it would mean the world!
