My Travel Story

My name is Akilah Showers, and I am from the soulful city of Memphis, Tennessee. I am the youngest of five, all raised by my heaven sent parents, Peter and Lolita Showers. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Business with a focus in Managerial Finance at the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss. In one more year, I will be the first in my family to receive a degree from a four- year university. I am proud to say I am working hard to accomplish many other things in life, such as studying abroad in Europe during the summer of 2016. This opportunity is one of a lifetime, and I am hoping that you are willing to help me accomplish this goal.
During my time in Europe I will be traveling to various places such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom. Traveling to these destinations will give me an insight on how Europeans partake in business. Also I will meet executives from companies based in Europe, such as BMW.
The total cost for the trip is $7900. This cost includes airfare, room & board, institution fees, etc. I will also be applying for additional scholarships to help cover the cost. I am committed to setting an example for those who do not feel they can succeed. No obstacle will stop me from accomplishing this goal.
I strongly believe that God has a great plan for me, and I know that through him, all things are possible. I thank Him and you for helping me achieve my goal. No matter how much you donate, I am forever grateful for your consideration.
