My Travel Story

by: Spencer Boehme Start Date: Sep 12, 2017 - End Date: Sep 11, 2018
My name is Spencer Boehme, I'm 19 years old, attending Brigham Young University, and I was offered a year long internship with African Impacts! It's always been a dream of mine to be a volunteer abroad. While there, I'll get to help run a gender equality program at a women's shelter in Zambia AND I'll get to help run a social work program! 60% of the children taken in are HIV+, so a huge part of my volunteer work will be physically and mentally helping these children recover. Programs like these are always happy to receive financial support! I will be leaving for Africa in September of 2018 and before I leave, I have decided to start funds to support these programs and all of the wonderful things that they accomplish! All donations will go DIRECTLY to African Impacts to help them support their many wonderful programs, as well as provide training for volunteers and interns. Thank you so much for your donations, they really make a difference!
