My Travel Story

Hey guys!!—

I hope this message meets you well. My name is Ayo and this DECEMEBER this I will be going out to San Francisco for 2-weeks, to carry out a research investigation concerning the process of gentrification within the Mission District and to further study how community groups are resisting displacement effects and protecting their cultural identities.

Whilst in San Francisco, during our free-time I am really keen on exploring the various cultures such as the local Chinatown as well as to appreciate the multitude of market areas such as Fisherman’s Wharf, which I’ve heard produce very fresh, natural and authentic produce. If you couldn’t tell I am already a tad excited haha…Personally, there’s so much to do and admire such as attending, for the first time ever, an NBA game involving the local Golden State Warriors as well as visiting Alcatraz Island. I am sure there’s so much more to do, so if you guys have any places/area that you recommend I should visit, please be sure to mention it down below and I will try my best to visit them within the timespan that I have in San Fran.

Currently, I am an undergrad Geography student and I have been working really hard over the past few months to help fund this superb opportunity. However, due to extenuating circumstances I have had to spend some of my trip money on various urgent matters. If you could could sponsor and help me to attain my target of £210 it will be immensely appreciated. Really, any amount offered would be of great value! Hopefully, I can reach my target and truly experience San Francisco for what it is, a unique and awesome city!
