GET MY HUSBAND AND I TO HIS HOMELAND!
My Travel Story
After dating for 2 and a half years, and a few trips to Israel, we realized that it was time to take the next step in our relationship. Long distance is hard, and after all that time, the pain of being separated by 7,000 miles was getting to be too much for the both of us. We took on the Federal Immigration System with zero understanding of what we were getting ourselves into. To have governments pick apart your personal lives and critique everything about you to decide whether or not you get to be with your soulmate is crushing. There were a couple times when they essentially told us that we'd better lawyer up if we ever wanted to be together. It was a surreal experience. You're treated like criminals from day one. It took a lot of research, a lot of perseverance, a lot of tears, and a lot of strength--but we made it through.
On February 9, 2016, Sahar and I said, "I do," in a small ceremony in Porterville, CA. We got jobs on the Central Coast, found a cute little place to live in, and started out cliché "Happily Ever After.”
However, my husband misses his homeland.
we are not in a stable spot, financially, but it’s important to both of us to raise some money to get to Israel to visit his family and his culture.
