Why am I volunteering?
Mental health is an issue very close to my heart. I believe everyone across the globe should have access to mental health care. This is the main reason why I have chosen to take these placements is to experience the way different cultures approach mental health and have a challenging and eye-opening experience.

Where will I be & What will I be doing?
The week of my placement will be spent in India.  I will be spending time with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience where leading psychiatrists and clinicians teach a combination of modern medicine & ancient techniques and how these can work simultaneously to combat mental health issues in India.

Funding my placement...
As this is an unpaid volunteer placement I will need to fund everything, all in a very short amount of time. The combined cost of my placement this October is going to be about £1500.

The program fees cover all workshops, training, transport from the airport, homestay accommodation & 2 meals a day during the working week. The extra things not included are: Flights, food during weekends (& lunch during the working week), visas, jabs and insurance. So this is what I'm asking for help towards it all given I only have the next month or so weeks to raise this money, I am in desperate need of donations!

I will be working loads in the weeks running up it so I’m hoping to be able to cover some of this myself. However, I will be so grateful for any extra help (great or small) as honestly any amount will be such a big help. Thank you in advance for your generosity & support. I am extremely happy to have been given the opportunity to travel & do something I love and I can't wait!
