My Travel Story

Once again Eileen & Jim return to Japan Oct 26th through Nov 7th primarily to eat some fabulous food, visit some of the most amazing people, and see the local sights.

Some highlights of our trip will include:
  • Eel Hot Pot Dinner (only served to 8 customers per day) at Tanakaya (a restaurant whose shop front is featured in a Hiroshige print) with live shamisen music
  • Seeing the Gion Odori (fall dance recital for Gion Higashi geisha) in Kyoto
  • Visiting 10 temples & shrines
As you can imagine, such a trip is quite expensive! Though these are things we are already planning to do regardless of whether or not we receive any donations, this page was set up as a sort of substitute for any material gifts friends or family might be considering in the next 5 months. You may choose to either make a nondescript donation, or if you like you may sponsor a particular activity or purchase in the adventure registry below.
