My Travel Story

Hello!  My name is Alexis and I am in 6th grade.  I am excited to say that this coming summer I am participating in an educational trip to some of California's awesome National Parks!  On day one my trip mates and I will be traveling to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge where we will learn about the history of the area spanning back about 200 years.  Day two will take us to Muir Woods and the Coastal Trail.  We will spend the day exploring giant redwoods, California beaches and other cool treasures along the Redwood Coast.  One of the highlights of the day will include a visit to Point Bonita Lighthouse.  On day three we will head to Yosemite where we will explore El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall, Half Dome, and of course Yosemite Falls!  We will also get to take in the awe-inspiring sites of Tunnel View, Glacier Point, and so many other beautiful places.  Day four will take us to Sequoia National Park where we will learn about the amazing sequoias, visit an enchanted meadow, and take in the breathtaking views of the Great Western Divide from Moro Rock!  On day five we will head to Kings Canyon and finish off the day volunteering at Project Survival's Cat Haven (https://cathaven.com/).  Day six we will head back home exhausted, but excited from all the wonderful places we visited and things we were able to see!

My travels will be packed with educational sights and fun activities that will teach me about some of California’s most famous landmarks and national parks that I have only read about in my textbooks.   I truly believe that we gain a deeper understanding of the world we live in when we get to visit and see it in person.  It also enables us to share our experience with others who may not have the opportunity to see it themselves.  With all of that said, I am raising funds to assist with my travel expenses and would like to ask if you would consider donating to help me make this trip happen.  Any amount would be greatly appreciated, big or small, since every penny counts!  I've also put together some cool incentives for various donation amounts.  Please be sure to claim yours when donating.  If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing my campaign via your Facebook or other favorite social media feed.  I am so excited for this fun and educational trip and I want to thank you in advance for your consideration and your kindness!
