This year I was selected to serve in Tanzania for the month of November through Duke University's Office of Global and Community Health Intiatives. Not only does this offer a life-changing educational and cultural experience, this gives me the opportunity to give back with a nurse's hands and a servant's heart. From an educational standpoint, this experience will allow me to better understand cultural differences and global health disparities. This will not only offer a more enhanced perspective of healthcare, but will greatly improve my personal practice, especially when caring for the rural and underserved populations here in my community. Healthcare is not only my passion, but nursing is my gift, and to be able to share this with those so desperately in need would be such a blessing. Please consider helping me fulfill this dream.
