I will be taking a party of up t0 24 young people aged 10 - 18 to Alsace. This is a visit to an area of France that most Britih people never visit. The aim is to introduce young people to another european culture, to a region much fought over and where the legacy of the past lives on today.
The party will stay in hostel accommodation and will visit le Struhof  - the only death camp in France, they will also climb the Donon, where they will see the grafitti going back hundreds of years showing the changing "ownership" of the land.
A visit to haut Koenigsberg castle will illustrate the importance of this region to Europe over many centuries.
There will also be opportunities for the young people to go white water rafting, canoing amongst the reed beds, and walk in the tree tops.
They will have free time to explore in Strasbourg, Colmar, ribeuville and Riquewhir, and will visit the Stork and Otter reintroduction centre to learn more about how both these threatened species have been brought back to the Rhine Valley countryside.
During the trip they will cook, clean and wash up for themselves. The trip is more than just a holiday, it is something that will change their lives and widen their horizons.
