My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Evelyn and I am a 26-year-old woman from Lesotho, one of the poorest countries in Africa. I come from a humble background, where opportunities for women are limited, and societal expectations often hold us back from pursuing our dreams. Despite these challenges, I have remained determined to break the cycle of limitation and stigma that many black women in my country face.

I am proud to share that I have been given an incredible opportunity to further my education and take my career to the next level. I have been accepted into the MBA program at the University of South Africa (UNISA), and I am also pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma at Wits University. This is an opportunity I never thought possible growing up, but I am committed to using my education to make a real difference.

The road to this achievement hasn't been easy. After completing my undergraduate studies, I found myself subjected to the traditional expectations placed on women in my community. With few job opportunities available, particularly for women, I’ve always felt the weight of these limitations. But instead of being discouraged, I have worked relentlessly to keep moving forward, with the goal of one day returning to Lesotho to start my own business, employing and empowering other women in my community.

Unfortunately, I do not have the financial resources to cover my tuition and accommodation fees, which amount to $10,000. I am reaching out to ask for your support in helping me raise these funds. Your contribution will not only enable me to pursue my education but also bring me one step closer to fulfilling my dream of giving back to my country and creating opportunities for other women.

If you would like to verify my story or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via email at makaramamolefi@gmail.com. I am happy to provide confirmation from both universities regarding my enrollment.

Thank you so much for considering my cause. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring me closer to my goal. Together, we can make a difference.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Evelyn
