A summer in Germany with my adopted sisters!
My Travel Story
This past October, two of the most amazing people entered my life. My adopted sisters from Germany spent three weeks in my home in North Dakota, learning about our daily life, school, culture, and getting immersed in true "American" English. We shared so much and loved our time together. Now, I am planning to do the same with them.
Life Experiences, Practical Education
Learning a language in a classroom only gives you the tools to start. You really need to use those tools to truly learn! I'm looking forward to improving my conversational German by being around it everyday, interacting with native speakers, and discovering all the little things we don't learn in a textbook.

There and Back Again - by Fionna O.
Whether you follow me while I'm traveling, or catch up on my reflections, stories, and drawings afterward, it's my desire to document for you the adventures of a teen North Dakota girl in Germany.
I love to draw, and I'm not too bad about writing. I'm planning to take pictures, make pictures, and write about my adventures "there and back again." My host family is looking forward to showing me a lot, so I should have great things to share. You can follow me at my upcoming online journal (watch for updates to get the URL).
I appreciate any contribution that helps me cover the costs for plane tickets traveling there and back. I'm excited to carry out this dream of seeing my adopted sisters again, meeting their families, international travel, and can’t wait to share our adventures with you!
