Hey everyone! My name is Jorie Reed and this upcoming fall I am studying abroad with Semester at Sea! I am currently a sophomore at John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL. In September I will be flying to Germany to board the MV World Odyssey for 106 days and traveling around the world. Traveling the world has always been a dream of mine! I am looking forward to being exposed to new cultures and gaining a new perspective of the world! While I am at sea, I will also be taking college courses on the ship that will transfer back to my home school. Fund my travel is something I wasn’t planning on doing. I thought I would be able to afford this program with no problems, but I have hit a couple of bumps in the road. With me leaving the country, it is important that I have my bills paid in months advance, such as phone bill, insurance, car payment, etc. I am working and making sure that I put my money towards my bills, but in the meantime, very little money is being put towards my trip with Semester at Sea. It is very hard to save when you support yourself and you have to do everything on your own. This trip means the world to me and I would hate to have to back out of the program. So much time and effort has been put into this and I would hate to see it go to waste. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me! This is a once in a life time opportunity and I don’t want to miss it!
