As some of you may or may not know I have been planning a trip to Brazil to meet with my love. He will be travelling Europe for 3 months prior to further develop himself both personally and professionally. Following on from that he will be spending 4 months in Brazil. If it weren’t for us planning my travels to Brazil we would be 7 months apart.

Recently I completely snapped the ligament in my right ankle hindering the financial situation of my trip. I have been immobile and only recently learning how to walk on it again. I had plans to secure a second job working through the night whist continuing to carry on with my regular 38 hours a week managing. As I am sure you could imagine my original plan to attain such goals is somewhat difficult. In this time I have had to use my annual leave, in which I was going to use for the trip and ongoing living costs whilst away. Hence my outreach.

Not only will this trip be a much anticipated reunion for the both of us, it will be one of great substance. Brazil is the first destination of an upcoming and ongoing project that we will be working on together. We will be visiting the less fortunate and poverty stricken communities, which more often than not are forgotten, overlooked and not heard. The intention of our project is to give the people an opportunity to have a voice, to tell their story and open the minds of the youth and our elders, to topics of importance. Making such things more prevalent to the many of us who get lost in our ‘first world problems’. We will be delivering their message through our love of the arts combining my love of film photography and Luiz’s many creative skills. A great platform of deliverance as the arts is an outlet of expression, which is generally influenced by culture, which in turn helps to change a culture.

Since teaching English in Cambodia to the street children and offering my aide, I have never looked at things the same and have wondered how I could continue to help and leave a mark on these beautiful peoples lives. After their country enduring so much through the Khmer Rouge Regime, killing at least 1.7million people ( a quarter of Cambodia’s population) over a short span of four years, the effects are still prevalent with so many families. Yet they still have the capacity inside of themselves to be the face everyday with and smile and encapsulate what the human race should be!

It has been in my absence from work that I have had a lot of time to think of a way I can combine my passions with the one I love to help have a positive effect on these lives. If any of you wish to follow the progress of where we are going with our project and what our long term goal is, please dont hesitate to contact me as it's something I will be very excited to share and talk about!

Thank you to each and everyone of you for taking the time to read through my campaign. And thank you in advance for anyone who wishes to donate, it is much appreciated :) :)
