For those of you that know me, you know that filmmaking has been my passion forever. After years of agitating and putting my body, mind, and spirit on the frontlines in the name of liberation, I'm now at a place of investing in myself. I'm in a process of loving myself enough to put me first. Over this year, I've been blessed with the opportunity to travel and to work as a part-time videographer and it has been a big factor in renewing my spirit and energy. I'm starting to dream and create again.

I've recently been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Africa to work on a project with my partner in crime, Adriana Foreman, who is an incredible interdisciplinary artist and healer based in Minneapolis. We previously collaborated on a short film titled Baptism that we shot, edited, and got into to the MNKINO Film Fest. We received some really good feedback and thought, why stop there? Why not dream big? That's when we thought: Part 2 in AFRICA!

On this trip, we will be traveling to Ghana. We are planning to explore the concept of returning home by further examining our connection to ancestry, land, water, and healing. We would like to incorporate these concepts into a film that involves puppetry and African folklore as well.

Our time will be spent learning, connecting, healing, being inspired, finalizing a script and filmming a narrative short film. We will be joined by family Paris and Toni!
