My Travel Story
The Atlantis Project is a study abroad organization that allows undergraduate students to shadow doctors in different specialties from other countries. I would get to travel to Kaunas, Lithuania to observe at Kauno Klinikos - Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. This hospital is the largest in the Baltic countries and a teaching hospital which has a wide variety of specialties/departments. My pre-professional advisor confirmed I was first from Western Carolina University to be accepted into the prestigious program.
This experience would be life changing for me. My dream is the make an impact on global health in the most desperate places on earth. I have never traveled farther than the south-eastern states or been on a plane. The Atlantis Project is giving me a chance to take my first big step.
I cannot afford this trip so I am asking for sponsorships. This experience is an investment for my future. I appreciate any amount that can be donated, however I need a total of $6,700 by April 1st. This includes the deposit, program fee, flights, passport and living expenses. Thank you for your consideration. Please choose to help me achieve this.
This program will further my understanding of health from a cultural perspective that I can use when it is my time to contribute to making the world a better place.
