Hi everyone!
Sooooo I'm super excited to announce that in January 2018, I will be working and volunteering abroad in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks! While there, I will be living in a homestay with a Sri Lankan family, as well as other volunteers.

I AM LITERALLY SO EXCITED.

SLV Global is a voluntary organization that started in 2010. They run projects to help the local community while simultaneously helping students and graduates gain valuable experience in a totally different culture.

I will be working with individuals who suffer with mental illness, and running activities for patients using sensory, music and creative therapies to engage with patients on a variety of wards in multiple institutions. I’ll also be attending workshops run by Samutthana, the King’s College London resource centre for trauma, displacement and mental health. The main aim of Samutthana is to train and support organizations and individuals to respond to the psychosocial needs of trauma sufferers i.e. tsunami survivors and those who have experienced civil-conflict in Sri Lanka.

Now, with that comes program fees and flights! The money for our program fees allows our host families to provide us with our meals for the remainder of our stay. It also covers the training and workshops I'll be doing.
In terms of flights, unfortunately it's nottttt exactly the cheapest flying nearly 9,000 miles away, so anything would certainty help!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and for all who help to make this experience happen!

❤️ Tiff
