My Travel Story

Hey Guys and Girls!

My name is Emily, and those of you who know me know of my love and passion for Wild Dogs. These creatures are amazing, and if you have had the opportunity to see them you are incredibly lucky! Did you know that there are only 400 Wild Dogs left in KZN?

People don't understand these creatures and just how awesome they actually are. There is a group of incredible people who run the Wildlife Act. They spend every day monitoring and researching all endangered species in South Africa- this helps the count of these endangered animals to increase - as someone is watching that certain animal every day to make sure it isn't injured, sick, or needs any special attention. They do this by getting volunteers to pay for the opportunity to help save these amazing creatures. As a volunteer you help monitor a specific species. You do this every day for two weeks. This includes taking photographic evidence of the growth of the endangered species- which is a dream career of mine.

For South Africans to volunteer it is R14 500. This is for two weeks which includes accommodation, meals, and the opportunity for hands on experience to help the endangered species of South Africa. Wildlife ACT volunteer their time and equipment to help clear the label of endangerment that these species fall under. Making a difference for a species, and having the opportunity to work so closely with Wild Dogs would be a dream for me.

If anyone can help me fund for the opportunity of a life time, any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated. Please spread the word, if not to help me, to help spread awareness of the service Wildlife ACT contributes to our reserves, and maybe get other volunteers on board!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this far!
