A few months ago I visited London to see J.K. Rowling’s new play, The Cursed Child. I have never been to England, so I was thrilled to experience it for the first time.  Immediately when I arrived, I fell unconditionally in love with the city. People everywhere were rushing around with such purpose; it was inspiring! I was awestruck by the amount of history that enfolded me everywhere I looked. I went to churches that were in service for hundreds, even thousands of years longer than just the existence of the oldest buildings in the United States. Any sense of time was completely forgotten as soon as I entered a museum, for I lost myself in the extensive amount of artwork and the even more extensive beauty of it all.
I have been accepted into the University of Arts London's Graphic Media Design program starting the fall of 2017. It is a 10 month integrated study abroad program at their College of Communication. These funds will help cover the costs of tuition and room, which have to be paid upfront to secure my spot in the program.
I saw a quote on the side of a building in Marylebone by Samuel Johnson that said “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford”. That quote resonated with me instantaneously. I am hungry for the hustle, the culture, the history, and all else that London has to offer. I cannot ever see myself being tired of London and am tremendously eager to start my journey there.
