Hello World.

My name is Kayla Bussert and here's my story.

I am a current sophomore at Purdue University majoring in Law and Society and minoring in Arabic and Forensic Science. On campus, I am currently a member of Purdue Musical Organization in a prestigious ensemble known as Purduettes. I am also a student ambassador for the Office of Admissions as well as working at the Alumni Center here on campus. I have recently been accepted into the Lex Fellowship program. The Lex Fellowship is a pre-law study abroad internship program where I will have the incredible opportunity to intern at law firms in Madrid, Spain for the summer! Being apart of this program will give me first hand experience of what it is really like to be a lawyer and how a law firm operates and to see if this is something I can see myself doing as a career in the future. The purpose of this program is to broaden and deepen a students understanding of the law and being exposed to all different types of law. It gives pre-law students the ability to communicate directly with lawyers and work on real life cases. And not to mention all while being abroad in Spain!

I am so honored to have been chosen to even be a part of a program like this. And I truly believe this program will give me the legal experience and understanding in the field of law to aide my decision of my future career. Law is something I am very passionate about and this program has everything I am looking for and it is an incredible opportunity. The only downside is the cost. I am here asking for your help in order to be able to have this amazing experience. My family is currently paying out-of-state tuition, rent on an apartment and I am not the only child, therefore as you can imagine, money is very tight. I would be beyond grateful if you would consider donating to my fund in order to have this experience. All of the money will go towards the tuition for the program which includes housing, meals, transportation around Madrid, excursions and so much more.

It has always been a dream of mine to go abroad and have first-world experience especially in the field of law. I hope you would consider being a part of making my dream come true. I will thoroughly be documenting the trip on social media and I would love to keep in contact to those who donate and would be willing to get those a souvenir while abroad. Every dollar counts! Anything that you can give would be very much appreciated. Thank you all so much for your time. I live to see the world and I hope you do too.
