I have been selected by Ecela-Spanish Spanish & medical program in Chile to travel overseas on an educational internship for this summer. The purpose of the trip is to use my passion for foreign countries and the love of the Spanish language to learn from the medical profession in Chile and Peru.

In America, we hold second place for most Spanish speaking citizens, first being Latin America, but many doctors in America do not know how to communicate with these citizens. Should we force them to learn English to have good health care? Ecela-Spanish is working on this problem, they are taking college student with the desire in medicine who wish to help everyone in need.

During the nine-week process, I will be shadowing doctors, while also learning the Spanish language in the classroom. The goal of Ecela-Spanish is to send me back to America Fluent in Spanish and educated in the medical field so that I have a greater chance to help those patients who do not know English.

Finally, I hope that I have shined the light in a spot that most Americans do not experience daily. Please keep me in your prayers, and any type of support from donations and encouragement letters are welcome!
