My Travel Story

by: Tara Allen Start Date: Jun 4, 2018 - End Date: Jun 3, 2019
Hello everyone,
I am Tara, a current Music Education major and Bass Clarinet concentration at The Crane School of Music. I am hoping to graduate from Crane with a bachelors in Music Education and my performance certificate.Currently, I am 41% done with my bachelors, and looking for the best ways to fundraise towards my masters.
I am hoping after I am recieve my bachelors, to study abroad in the Netherlands to get a double masters in Music Education and Bass Clarinet performance.
I have been applying to every scholarship that I can, and have a job to hopefully help pay for my abroad experience.
I'm sure most of you are wondering, " why would she want to study in the Netherlands?". I want to study in the Netherlands because my instrument, the Bass Clarinet, is very big there. Along with that, there will be a huge opportunity for me to work with renowned Bass Clarinetist, Fie Schouten, if I am capable of raising the money that is necessary before I am done with my bachelors.
Studying in the Netherlands will open so many doors for me, aside from working with Professor Schouten. It will allow me to have a global experience, and even professional experience with other Bass Clarinetists worldwide.
This is meaningful to me because not only have I always wanted to go abroad, but I will be able to spread my love for music and continue it worldwide by gaining international experiences within my field.
