My Travel Story

Thanks for visiting my fundmytravel campaign page. My name is Daniel Brown and I'm a writer and multimedia journalist, currently working as a crime reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times. My goal with this trip is to get out in the world, and report on conflict, politics and culture in Africa, South America, Ukraine and possibly more. Unfortunately in this day and age, one must - if they want to get a job reporting on these issues - take a chance and get out there and freelance. This is exactly my goal. I hope, during the estimated 6 month reporting trip - to shed light on important matters, as well as gain experience and good clips. However, with all my student loans and current meager income it will be years before I'm able to act on such a plan. So...I'm asking for you help!
