My Travel Story

So many people say that traveling is something they want to do. Like those people, traveling is very important to me. However, when I picture going to new, exciting, magical and historical places, I have always had a difficult time picturing myself only being in these places for a few days. To me, a few days cannot possibly be enough time to fully experience the cultures and to see what secrets these far off lands have to tell. Ireland, has always been at the top of my list of places to see, so when this study abroad program presented itself, I could not resist applying for this amazing opportunity.

Ireland will be a meaningful place to me for several reasons. One, Irish culture is in my blood. My family immigrated from their a few generations ago, but many Irish traits still maintain a stronghold within my family's core values. Being able to first hand observe where it is we come from is going to be life changing. Another reason this trip will be meaningful is, the opportunity I will have to study at the University of Ireland, Galway. Galway, Ireland is a cultural hub! People from all over the world go to study at this University. The connections I make there will not only be with native of Ireland, but with people for all across the globe. So much can be learned from them and experiencing different cultures is a passion of mine.

The reason I am setting up a fundmytavel is because, while my semester is already paid for, there are still some daily living expenses that I need to prepare for. Once I have been there for 3 weeks, I will be able to get a job, but getting hired isn’t a for sure thing, so I want to make sure I have some money set aside in case it takes a while to get a job.

Any amount helps and I thank you so much for your support!
