Hallo out there!

My name is Marianne and I am a 22-year-old Danish engineering student from Aalborg University. In cooperation with EWH Aalborg, I have the opportunity to spend two months in Tanzania with a Summer Institute!

The Summer Institute, which begins June 11 and ends August 13, has the purpose to create a locally sustainable community for the resource-weak societies, such the locals in Tanzania. With this summer institute will the locally not only reside in one village, but they will travel to the different hospitals and medical practice. It all depends on, where they need us the most.
When you choose to donate money to me, you will help me to be able to repair medical devices and give instructions to local hospital employees. Typically, are hospital employees in Tanzania not familiar with the equipment use or requirement for repairment.
During the stay will I with a group of people visit different orphanage i Tanzania in the weekends. Together with different stores in Denmark will we donate toys and clothes.

Also you will help experince a great adventure and for the first time in my lift visit Africa! I will weekly post updates about my campaign and what I do to achieve this dream adventure!

Have a nice day !

My first update! And question ... Where exactly am I going?
To Tanzania! (You already knew that!.. )
But where is Tanzania and how big is it? Well, is a country in Eastern Africa and has a population of 51.82 million people! The main languages in Tanzania are Swahili and English. I sincerely hope, that I will be a fast learner when it comes to Swahili! Swahili is extremely useful for getting around and building important relationships at the hospital and in the community!

The Summer Institute in Tanzania assists 12 hospitals with critical medical device repairs and other services. The first month will be in Usa River, near Arusha. During this month will I receive courses in both Swahili and biomedical equipment! (I am so excited!!)

And at last, but not least!
Thank you, Tobias Jensen, for my first donation! I truly appreciate it and will think of you in Tanzania! :)
You will receive a postcard and e-mail updates during my trip! Again thank you!
