My Travel Story

by: Lindsay Williams Start Date: Jun 26, 2017 - End Date: Dec 22, 2017
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to show interest in my campaign. I have put a lot of effort into getting this far and I do not ask for your donations lightly. The ultimate goal of this campaign is to provide future generations with wildlife photography of soon-to-be non-existent animals. In doing so, I will raise awareness about the critical state of mother nature, compelling those to do more to protect the planet and its inhabitants. Along this course I will also be raising funds for Sierra Club and The World Wildlife Fund to further promote awareness and sustainable change.

This first trip will jumpstart my wildlife photography career, bringing me one step closer to my goal of becoming the first black female staff photographer for National Geographic and at the very least put me on their radar. I chose the Mediterranean Woodlands because the Iberian Lynx, located in Portugal is expected to be the first feline subspecies to go extinct in approximately 500 years. The Monk Seal and Barbary Macaque are also a critically endangered species. I have always been passionate about animals and with the passing of the last White Rhino in Africa time is of the essence. Life is short and I no longer want to wait for "the right time".
