My Travel Story
My name is Brian-TheAfricanNomad, a young African gentleman with restless feet and with a desire to see the whole world, one country at a time.
On 5th September 2017 I will embark on a journey that will take me across all the 54 African countries.
Africa is a continent that has been portrayed as the black continent, overrun with disease, poverty and conflict, and stereotyped with a lot of negative news. Its time I proved everyone wrong.
My aim is to travel to all the 54 African countries promoting sustainable tourism as well as carrying out sensitization on the sustainable development goals. Apart from that, I will be interacting with the locals and so amassing stories that show the beautiful and diverse African culture, the love and unity that is in us. The African youth, women and people with disability will not be left out and my aim is helping them realize their own dreams and potential, by showing them that anyone can follow their passions and turn their dreams into reality.
It was after I quit my jobs both as an interior architect/designer and as a youth delegate that I created this hub for people like me who want to be inspired to travel and live a more adventurous life every day.
My dream is to challenge and change some of the preconception of Africa as a whole and to be an inspiration to the many jobless and hopeless people out there that and let them know that there is still hope, but we need to work towards attaining our dreams.
With the experience gained while working as a youth delegate and as an interior designer/architect, I plan on collaborating with artist from all these countries and use art and music as a means of communication and giving back to the community.
I feel excited to be granted an opportunity to tour cities I have never been to before, to meet people from all walks of life and share my experience, indulge in their culture and learn from them, form new friendships, visit the various historical and cultural sites in these countries and promote sustainability in Africa. I will be documenting the entire experience through daily stories, photography and use of YouTube videos. I will also use my social media platforms and blog where I will share travel tips, lifestyle tips & motivational insights, DIY projects, and the best of what Africa as a continent has to offer.
Once I kick start this initiative I will be on my own, with little knowledge of all my destinations, while I invest all my ounce into making Africa great again. I however believe that you can all be part of my initiative and cause.
There are countless ways you can support me, these include subscribing to all my social media platforms, watching my progress and relaying it to your friends in all the said countries. Assist me acquiring travel gear and equipment's as well as catering for my visas, transport and accommodation. Am raising money to support myself on my travels across all the 54 African countries.
Life truly is about the experiences we go through, the adventures and living every day to the fullest.
