My Travel Story

Hello!

On October 8th, I will be travelling to Sri Lanka for 1 month to undertake a mental health placement with the company SLV Global. This organisation aims to provide communities in Sri Lanka with the resources to help people who are suffering from mental health illness. Their other main goal is to promote positive mental health as much as possible by boosting confidence, self-esteem and improving key life skills.

While I’m there I’ll be contributing to the community in a variety of ways. The main projects will involve working in psychiatric wards, helping in schools and teaching English to children and adults. I’m sure this will be a challenging and exciting experience working within a new culture while also gaining valuable work experience!
