My Travel Story

This trip has been a dream of mine for decades, but I never thought I'd get the chance to go. One of the definitions of pilgrimage is "a journey to a place associated with someone or something well known or respected", or a religious journey or expedition. I've heard the stories about these places since I was a child and now I have the opportunity to see them for myself. During these ten days we will visit Jerusalem and Bethlehem, explore Masada and En Gedi, walk the shores of the Sea of Galilee and float in the Dead Sea. We will stand on Golgotha and pray at Gethsemane, visit the ancient Roman city of Caesarea and climb Mt Carmel, and view the fields of Megiddo.

    First Fundraiser
    My first fundraiser is set for February 26th at Plantersville Baptist Church. I'll be hosting a spaghetti lunch after the Sunday morning worship service. For $5, you'll get a plate with spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and sweet tea. I'll talk a little about my trip, what we have planned and some of the places we're going to go. After the trip in November, I'll come back with pictures and souvenirs, and show them while telling about the experience and what I saw and learned.

    Just to be clear, I do NOT expect everyone else to pay for this trip for me. I'm streamlining my budget to set aside as much as I can towards the trip and have updated the amount here to reflect that change. I'm also planning local fundraisers. This online page is for non-local friends and family who would like to donate and aren't close enough to take advantage of the local projects I'll be doing.
