My Travel Story

Hello everyone,

My name is Thina, and I would greatly appreciate a moment of your time to read through my proposal to see what my campaign is all about.

Every now and then it happens that your life comes to a complete standstill. That no matter how hard you try or no matter what you do, nothing ever really works out, and you can never quite back on track. In times like this, it is important to take a step back and evaluate your life and the particular circumstances that put you on a particular path. The number one thing to remember in times like this is to never, under any circumstances, give up. Except when it's detrimental to your health, be it mental, emotional or physical.

A lot of the time people are afraid of starting over, in some cases, it can be seen as failing, especially if you look at it in accordance with the timelines that society has set out. However, there are those of us that see starting over as an opportunity to grow, to learn, and to better themselves. Which brings me to why I started this campaign. About a year ago I found myself in a situation where I had no job, no stable income, and having to move back home. It was a tough adjustment to make, considering how used to being independent I had become, but one I had to make because circumstances wouldn't allow for anything else.

Needless to say within no time I was climbing the walls and needed a significant change in my life. At this point, I sat down and started making lists. The one that kept coming up is my desire to go back to school. I applied to a number of Colleges and Universities across the globe. On the 25th of April, I received word that I had been accepted to study at the Los Angeles City College in California, where I hope to double major in Anthropology and Journalism. At this point, never has my dream looked more like a possible reality than right now.

The major hurdle that I am facing right now is funding, mostly to cover my tuition fees as well as some living expenses. The unfortunate thing at the moment is that I do not qualify for financial aid, which is why I am turning to family, friends and other avenues to help raise the funds I need in order to turn this particular dream into a reality. The breakdown of how I would be spending any and all donations received is as follows:

Tuition: $6,994.00
Room and Board/ Accommodation: $11,970.00
Books and Supplies: $1,746.00
Travel, Food, Miscellaneous: $4,167.00

Bringing me to the grand total of $24,895.00. Any and all help would be appreciated. Maybe you might not be able to make a donation, but the person that would be able to make a donation could be on your friend's list, one of your followers or on your timeline. I truly appreciate the time you have taken to read my campaign, please donate where you can and share as far and wide as possible.

Please remember, every donation and every share helps.
