My Travel Story

We three, me, Tony Wang and James Feng, are chemical engineering students currently studying  in University of Melbourne. At the end of last year we participated into an engineering innovation type competition called Shell Idea 360. The competition consists of 3 stages and shortlisted 5 from 1100 teams globally into the final and fortunately, we are one of these five.
It is our great honor to get into the final of such an international-level competition and gain the chance to pitch in front of several renowned judges. Participating into such a competition was a tough choice at the beginning, as we all needed to spend massive free time on this extracurricular event besides our studies.  However, with the original heart to make some change for ourselves and the world, we still got into the competition without hesitation. Luckily we succeeded, which means all our previous effort were not wasted.
Our team's name, L'etranger, means 'stranger' in English. As a foreign student studying in alien lands, we had suffered so much frustration. Language, environment, living alone, all such problems challenge us constantly. But that is why we work so hard to get rid of this plight and try our best to achieve our personal value. If you are also a stranger studying/working in foreign countries, I think you will understand us.
The winning of this competition will be a great affirmation for us, however this is not the end. We wish, and also believe that we can do much more than this. During Jun 30th to Jul 5th we would be travelling to London to attend competition final, held at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in live form to broadcast to worldwide audiences. Even though Shell covered all our flight and accomodation, in order to win the competion, we still need to figure out a decent prototype and make the best presentation to pitch our idea. All these cost we are going to spend, is just too hard for us three to afford. Please support us to go further, no matter you are Australian, Chinese or just a foreigner staying abroad. I hope you can see the effort and your same year's shadow from us.
