The opportunity the exchange student program would allow me to experience a new perspective to how higher education works in a country like Mexico and explore the life I could have had (as a young adult and as a student) if my parents had decided to raise me in Mexico. The content that I intend to study while in Mexico is Law. I want to study in this field so that I can hopefully be an immigration lawyer in Mexico and in the United States. I am also interested in practicing international law and the skills I would want to learn is how to negotiate and advocate for immigrants not only in my my home country (the US), but also in different spanish speaking countries. I grew up going back and forth between Baja California and Washington, but studying in Mexico would add more academically dense substance to my experience with my culture. Studying at U ERRE would immerse me in my culture and help me exlpore the judicial/ educational systems within Mexico.

I am beyond excited to take on my sophomore year of college now that I know for sure that I will be studying abroad starting January 2019. There are no more "but"s and "maybe"s about it. Please don't forget to help out and add what you can to this campaign and don't forget there are little handmade gifts in store for those who contribute!
I am excited to say that I am about to complete my application and was assured I would be the student from Western nominated to go to the Universidad Regiomontana. Im excited to be taking these final steps. Please don't forget about this fundraiser, since financial aid can only go so far. Help a homegirl go after her dream!
