Welcome to my fundraising page! Thank you for taking time out of your day to look into my campaign. I have always wanted to study abroad and this summer when I traveled to Spain I knew instantly that this is the place that I wanted to call "home" for a semester. From the cobblestone streets in Toledo to crystal blue waters of Costa del Sol, Spain continuously amazed and astounded me with its rich history and diverse geography. My 12-day trip just wasn't enough time in Spain's vibrant culture so I began to look into study abroad programs as soon as I returned to the United States. I found a program that offered everything that I was looking for in a study abroad program from Openmind. January 27th would mark the beginning of a life-changing in experience in Spain. I would land in Barcelona for a two-day orientation before heading off to a lovely host family in one of Spain's varied and beautiful regions: Andalusia, Madrid, Segovia, Leon, Valencia, Galicia, or the Canary Islands. Once I have arrived at my new home I will begin attending school at a local high school. A majority of the classes will be taught in Spanish while some will be taught in regional dialects like Catalan, Valenciano,  or Galician. This not only encourages bilingualism throughout Spain it also offers exchange students like myself the opportunity improve their Spanish skills and gain skills in another language over the course of 5-months. This semester abroad gives me the opportunity to gain fluency in Spanish that can only be achieved by studying abroad. It will also allow me to forge international friendships and connections that will last a lifetime. This program, as affordable as it is, poses a considerable financial burden for my family and without your support, I will not be able to have a life-changing semester abroad in Spain. I deeply appreciate any donations toward my program tuition and thank you in advance for helping support my semester in Spain.
