My Travel Story

Ati and Bavuyise were two happy nine your old boys living in rural Knysna, South Africa, in August of 2011 when their mother passed away suddenly.  They lived with me for a while before tehir father moved them to live wth his family over 500 km's away.  And so started a four year custody battle while the boys were living under dismal conditions.  Their father passed away during this time, making them AIDS orphans.  In January 2016, we finally won the battle and their maternal aunt became their guardian.  The biys started boarding school and we all pulled together as a fmaily to heal teh wounds of the past. Our beautiful boys Have gone from failing to nearly C aggregates - an improvement of 30% in tehir marks!  A real testament to their desire to forge a better future.  But much work still needs to be done and sending them on a two week volunteering holiday with GoEco, where they will learn to give rather than receive, thereby hopefully empowering them to become proactive and jump into the drivers' seats of tehir lives, is next on our bucket list.  Please help us sponsor them to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity to help them see what they might become.
