My Travel Story

It's world Haemophilia day and it seems like the perfect time to launch a silly little idea that came into my head about a year ago today...
I have severe haemophilia A and I'm at the start of a very exciting journey to be cured with a brand new, cutting edge gene therapy medication.
I'm not yet sure where this journey will take me, but it's my intention to raise awareness of the struggles experienced by haemophiliacs around the world.
Currently 75% of the world has little or no access to medication. This is disgusting and in today's world does not have to be the case.
Assuming things go to plan, I want to use my new found abilities (to be able to walk pain free, and not need constant intravenous infusions) to travel the world meeting fellow blood brothers and sisters, to highlight our battles and start a movement that results in a fairer, more just life for hundreds of thousands of haemophiliacs around the globe.
We've had a raw deal, thousands have lost their lives due to being treated with infected medication, thousands live with debilitating disabilities and thousands live in constant pain and fear of the next bleed.
Please follow, like and share this page if you have any interest in my journey or would even be willing to let me visit you to learn about how haemophilia affects your life!
Over he coming weeks and months I'll be sharing my (very personal and emotionally raw) video diaries about recovery from my recent ankle fusion, and sharing my experiences of the run up to being given a brand new (trial stages) gene therapy which is meant to potentially cure me of severe haemophilia A. (Who'd have thought I would ever be saying that!!)
Solidarity friends, the future is bright!
