My Travel Story
Thanks for watching the video! ..And welcome to my crowdfunding campaign, Namastey Wild USA.
This video is an attempt to collect some funds for my trip to California, in September 2018.
I'm Marta! A portuguese gal, a wildlife photographer/filmmaker and an enthusiastic traveller that, after travelling through Europe, decided to move to New Delhi, India with her pawesome travel companion, Runa.
Runa is a dog I've adopted while I was living in Lisbon, Portugal. For three years now that we've been travelling together and experiencing adventures and new cultures.
After living in the UK we left Manchester behind, packed our bags and.. well, moved to India.
What we didn't know is that India is definitely not the best place to save money. Especially when you're used to a British salary. This is the part where you guys are so tenderly invited to participate.
I got the opportunity to visit the States for 18 days, in September. For that time I'll be in California, visiting National Parks, a bit of LA and the (previously considered) best zoo in the world, San Diego Zoo. This trip is a way to discover a bit of the US culture and lifestyle before I consider to maybe move there... Who knows, I'm always jumping around.
Namastey Wild USA is not a regular crowdfunding campaign, though. I'm not just 'begging' for money in order to go to travel. Nothing of the kind.
I'd actually like to earn those funds I'm asking you for.
Regarding that idea, I have three gifts for you guys:
- As a wildlife photographer, I'm always with my camera taking pictures. My offer is to send you postcards of pictures that I take here in India or in the USA and send them to you guys, wherever you are.
Or, if there's anything in specific that you'd like me to take a picture of, I'd be totally willing to do that for you, too.
Either way, these photographs would be converted into postcards and send to you with a personal and unique message from me and Runa
- As a filmmaker, I equally carry my camera around and film short clips and funny videos of my experience here in India. As a matter of fact, I have a couple of interesting and fun ideas to film and adventures to record of what's like to be a foreign girl in India... a portuguese girl experiencing India for the first time, with her dog and lack of a British salary - trust me, it can be a funny thing -
Back to my second offer to you, guys: I'm proposing to film and record funny and bubbly videos of my experiences and odd encounters here in India (and/or the US) and share with you guys.
These videos would be posted on my Facebook, Instagram and Youtube (all three will be given to you at the end of the description)
PS. As it happens with the postcards, if there's any experience, myth or just a funny situation that you want me to put myself through and record it, I'm totally up for it!
Any funny idea you have that would like me to attempt to do and film?
..Want me to try driving at the indian traffic? Stroke a cow on the street? Take Runa on a motorcycle (one of my plans, since I arrived, is actually to develop a backpack where I can carry my 19KG dog while I drive a motorcycle and go on a road trip)?

- My third offer consists in having daily or weekly posts where you guys can follow up my trip preparations, my adaptations and adjustments as a portuguese gal in India, my new ideas and projects either about my trip or my other trips around the country.
