Being able to live and work in Ireland is something that I've been wanting to do for a LONG time. I have never been able to because it just never worked out for me financially. I want to pursue a job in the photojournalism field, and hopefully in the future traveling will be part of my career. I am working really hard to make this dream a reality.

I am going to school for Visual Communication Technology, which is a combination of photography, print, video, and interactive media. My specialaztion is photography. In order to graduate, I have to paticipate in 3 semester long, full-time internships.

After doing a lot of research, I found an amazing program called Connect-123 that helps connect students with potential employers in various countries. They have offered me an incredible opportunity as an intern at a noteworthy photography studio in Dublin, Ireland.

I am SO excited to have this once in a lifetime professional experience all while beginning to fulfill my dreams of traveling the world. As you can imagine, it comes with a lot of financial strains. Dublin is known for being an expensive city, and the dollar is worth more than the euro (1 euro = 1.25 dollars). This means that if I have $100, I will only have €80.16. I have to pay for airfare, the fees in order to obtain a Working Holiday Authorization Visa, as well as an apartment and living expenses while I am there, all while working full-time at an UNPAID internship. While I won't be compensated for my internship, it will give me amazing experience in my field. The professional development and cultural experience will be worth a lot more to me in the future than any money I could make.

I want to be able to explore this beautiful, historical country and be able to share my experiences with all of you!

My hope is to spend January 2015-May 2015 in Dublin, Ireland.
