My Travel Story

by: Kimberly Flannigan Start Date: Jun 15, 2018 - End Date: Oct 17, 2018
As a student of Anthropology and Comparative Religion I feel that it is a great responsibility to use my education in a way which will benefit those who I’ve spent so much time studying, humankind. Originally teaching was my goal, however the classroom setting is not for me. I have explored the United States Coasts from Texas around to New Jersey and I am ready to expand my travels’ and share my uniquely tailored experienced with the world. I have discovered a fantastic way of making a career out of traveling. I am venturing into Nomadic Blogging! Nomadic Bloggers travel the world and share their experiences through person blogs, websites, travel media outlets and social media platforms, with the hopes that all the hard work will land a contract with Lonely Planet of National Geographic. I have chosen this avenue to educate rather than in a classroom setting because here I am not limited, here I can show unfiltered content, here I can teach other about the world beyond the academic curriculum.

There will be tones of rejection for my writing, more of my photos will denied than accepted, I will have to work tirelessly to gain an audience through my blog, furthermore, meticulously keep notes on everything from prices abroad, reviews for accommodation/tours/transportation reviews to updated Visa and travel requirements. For me, the hard work is worth the personal satisfaction of using the world as my office.

I have started this fund to aid me in my 3-month trip to SE Asia November 1. For the last few months I have reduced my financial responsibilities by removing most of the unnecessary luxuries in my life. I have been able to purchase my passport, airline tickets, travel insurance and few other required expenses, all totaling $4200. I am in my final stages and need your help. I appreciate anything you are willing to give in supporting this endeavor. I thank you ahead of time.
