My Travel Story

Hi my name is Molly Gallagher and I'm 14 years old and have been given this incredible opportunity to travel to Ghana and volunteer during the Easter half term in 2017! There is only one obstacle standing in my way! I have to raise all the funds myself.

I will be travelling with others from my school with support from the African Adventures team.

Whilst in Ghana I will be able to help teach the students in the classroom, help with the building of resources or even put on my running shoes for a spot of multi-sport coaching, all of these are equally as exciting.

For those of you that know me you know this trip is going to be outside of my comfort zone as usually, I am a quiet person who doesn't really like the heat.  I want to go on this trip even though I don't like the heat because this is an amazing opportunity that I won't get again. I want this trip to push limits and challenge myself to try and help me improve in my confidence but most of all I want to be able to help others in their community.

The trip will give me a chance to develop understanding of a different culture and will be an incredibly rewarding, educational and meaningful experience.

I am currently selling stuff on eBay and doing car boot sails to raise some money but I am also going to do cake sales and other stuff.
