My Travel Story

I feel like since I started college, I have really begun to find myself.  I’m realizing who I was is not the person I want to be and who I am becoming is the person I want to stay. With that being said, I want to go on this trip to help me find myself and take something away from it that will help me find who I need to be right now. I would love nothing more than to do this by learning from others; who they are, where they’re from, and where they hope to be.

My hopes for this experience will be that I will bring back something so much bigger than what I thought I would. From what I understand, some of these areas are in high poverty communities, some things we will see will be very upsetting, and some things will challenge me in new ways. But, it is because of these things that I’m very hopeful in bringing back new feelings and ideas on how to better not only myself, but the service I do for our community and other communities as well. Sometimes it takes an outside look on things to really see what we can do or even see our goals of what we wish to do, and that is one thing I very much want to bring back with me.
